Hello All!
I know its been awhile, but here is the update on my life here in Prague. As of today, I only have 22 more days to discover the European continent. I am not ready to come home, but sadly plane tickets are not refundable and I have a job that starts soon after my June 3rd arrival in the states. This experience has been unforgettable and life-changing. I hope that everyone, one day, gets to have an experience similar to this. So...back to what I have been up to.
Since my encounter with Terrence Howard, time has flown by. In this blog I will talk about my day spent at Vysehrad Castle grounds and the night I spent at the Wich Burning festival in Prague.
Vysehrad Castle was the original castle in Prague and was built around 1000. Since, it was been broken down and partly destroyed. Today the Castle does not necessarily exist but the grounds do. They are vast and due to its location, you can see all of Prague from the top. The grounds also have a beautiful church that is original. I spent the day walking the grounds with my friends Lindsay, Katie, Katie, Peter, and John. It was a great day with great weather. :)
The Witch Burning Festival in Prague happens every year on April 30th. This festival celebrates the end of winter and the beginning of Spring. All around the city bonfires are erected, witch looking scarecrows are burned, and a lot of alcohol is consumed. Its a typical Czech version of a party. Katie, Lindsay, and I along with a lot of other Americans went to the a park along the Vltava river to join the fun. We spent the night drinking beer, listening to bad 90s american music, and say near the bonfire. There was also a fireworks display at the end of the evening. We had a good, relaxing time. It was a good way to wind down the week before our trip to Krakow, Poland the following day.
